The Kremlin is thus hoping to raise the Gazprom subsidiary's cost efficiency. However, the first round of debates accomplished nothing, as the management of Gazprom Neft was soon after replaced. In the opinion of experts, the companies will only be able to reach a compromise after YUKOS assets are divided up. By then, Gazprom Neft will have determined its development strategy and Rosneft will have begun its expansion, the RBC Daily newspaper wrote today.
